Backpack Buddies Foundation of Loudoun to Receive Commending Resolution

Leesburg, Virginia - Backpack Buddies Foundation of Loudoun, Inc (BBFL) is honored to announce that they will be presented a Resolution by Delegate David A. Reid of the Virginia General Assembly commending their five years of commitment to funding and supporting the individual programs that provide weekend food backpacks for students in need in Loudoun County.

During the 2018-2019 school year, BBFL supported programs that represent over 80 local schools and over 3,000 students throughout Loudoun County that provide food over the weekends as well as through school breaks and holidays. Their continuing efforts to educate the community on the pervasiveness and causes of food insecurity nationwide, and in Loudoun County, has made them a great resource for families in need in our area.  Their efforts have also resulted in grants from between $500 to $51,000 depending on the number of students that the program supports each week.

Delegate Reid and members of his staff will be presenting the Resolution to the Backpack Buddies team on Friday, May 17 at 8:30 am at The Junction in Leesburg, Va.
